Frequently Asked Questions

Orthopaedics is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and diseases of the body’s musculoskeletal system. This complex system includes the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves and allows you to move, work and be active. (Source: American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons).

All of our associated doctors are board-certified and fellowship trained orthopaedic specialists in a variety of sub-specialties. They are assisted by an experienced and dedicated team highly trained and specialized in orthopaedic care.

We treat conditions of all kinds, some of which include sports injuries or occupational hazards, such as back pain, neck pain and hip pain. Every visit to our clinic begins with a thorough diagnosis with our orthopaedic specialist, who will determine what tests need to be done and the next steps that you will need to take.

For most orthopaedic conditions, you can expect full recovery with conservative management meaning with or without medication and physiotherapy. Surgery is only needed in less than 5% of most orthopaedic cases where conservative management has not improved the condition.

Visiting our facility will provide you with an unparalleled series of care from a specialist consultation, diagnostic testing using state-of-the-art equipment and treatment to physiotherapy and rehabilitation, all in one place.

At our on-site physiotherapy and rehabilitation facility, our team of highly trained physiotherapists will provide a multitude of specialized services including individualized rehabilitation programs, education on shoulder and spinal mobilization, hand therapy and custom splinting and bracing.

Physiotherapy is sometimes used as a treatment in and of itself. It also plays a vital role post surgery to ensure that each patient gains maximum flexibility and strength. At V33, we evaluate each patient individually and recommend the course of action that would most quickly and effectively allow you to enjoy immediate and long-term pain free activity. We also have a sports therapist and nutritionist on board to support your healing journey.

Our clinic is designed for operational efficiency to deliver high quality orthopaedic care in an environment conducive to healing. You can find us on the 7th floor of Block A in Pantai Hospital KL. Once you arrive at our doors, you’ll be met with our clinic assistants, who will register you into the hospital system and check you in to see our orthopaedic specialists.

Ultrasound has been utilised in orthopaedics as a non-invasive imaging modality to help assist with diagnosis and interventions.

ORTHOPAEDIC US developed from diagnosis to intervention and surgery. It was not until the last decade, the development of US-guided surgeries started in the field of orthopaedics.

Ultrasound-guided orthopaedic procedures demonstrate the growing trend of using ultrasound as first-line modality.

The ultimate goal of all image-guided orthopaedic procedures is to maximise patient safety, improve procedural accuracy, and optimise clinical outcomes. In addition to facilitating these objectives, ultrasound-guidance also offers the benefit of eliminating ionizing radiation exposure( image intensifier II) during procedures.

  1. No fasting is required – Feel free to eat as you would on any other day leading up to the procedure. There’s no need to fast prior to your visit.
  2. Local Anesthesia – Get painless surgery with no side effects from IV or general inhaled anesthesia such as nausea or drowsiness. There’s no sore throat from a breathing tube placed in your throat.
  3. Comfort -Stay in the  clothes you wore to the office. There’s no need to change into a hospital gown. No IV is needed, so no tubing is attached to your arm.
